Sending Love to Cindy and Addy

Hi everyone,
Those of you who know me or my family know we are not people who like to ask for help, and certainly not money. However, we recently hit a bit of a rough patch. My mom, Cindy, had to be taken into emergency surgery on 8/26 for a severe case of diverticulitis and a perforated colon. She had to have part of her colon removed, and will spend several days in the hospital. On top of that, she has permanent custody of my 3 year old niece, Addy. My mom is a hard-working and well-respected nurse, but she is doing this alone, and it is already tough to make ends meet with another mouth to feed and daycare to pay for. Now, she will be out of work for at least 6 weeks, and this will be unpaid. On top of 6 weeks of not being paid, there will obviously be plenty of medical bills to take care of, including another surgery she will have to go through in 3 months or so, and surely more hospital stays for that. Of course, that doesn't include the expenses of having a 3 year old in the home, which any parent will know would be tough to cover without pay.
