It took an unexpected phone call to shake my world and within 24 hours I found myself on another plane. This first flight being a one way.
Diagnosis - Acute Myeloid Leukemia. For the next 6 months (minimum) I will be a weekend warrior, traveling almost every weekend to be with my Dad during this journey.
Although driving is less expensive, the 14 hour round trip every weekend is not ideal for long term. Therefore, funds donated will go directly to flights. I can maximize my time at home during the week with Klaus, Major and Brit, as well as maximize my time in Arizona with my Dad if I am able to get back and forth efficiently. Best case scenario is Bone Marrow Transplant takes place before/by October. Then the hard work really sets in.
Being an event planner, this will directly impact my income. With most (if not all) of my events taking place on the weekend I will not be taking on any jobs during this period.
If you are curious where the total goal came from, I simply averaged out the flight costs over the number of potential trips (approx 25). That’s it. Pretty simple.
