Sending Elijah to Nationals

Elijah Lawson-Lukawitski has a chance to compete at the National Championships with Karate Canada . No he didn't have to ride his bike to New Brunswick, He caught a ride with me and Paul (his yogi-bro).
Elijah was 9 years old when he competed in his first Karate Tournament. Now at almost 16 (March 8th), he is junior black-belt of Chito-Ryu Karate , and has a spot on New Brunswick's Karate Team .
As Elijah's mother I am in school earning a Master's degree in Adult Education and working part-time as a researcher/writer. Such an unglamorous life-style leaves little money for the higher cost that competitive sport entails. While I've raised and paid the lionesses share of Elijah's karate journey to date, and helpful grandparents and Chito-Ryu clubs have occasionally chipped a little in, going to Nationals is beyond my financial reach.
While I wish I could financially make this dream come true for elijah on my own, at this point if I don't ask for some help, he will not be able to go. I'm hoping that is not the case.
The total journey, equipment, uniforms, training sessions, gas, food, and hotel, from January till Nationals (March 9-11) costs $2920. To date $1070 has been paid. $1850 to go!
The best I can do now, is swallow my silly pride (which I will always do for my kids) , and ask those of you who know how amazing Elijah is, and how hard Elijah has worked since he was a 4 year old white-belt, to help a little.
I know he will do us all proud through skill and attitude. He is training hard (probably at the school gym, now as I write this), and deserves to take this next step towards a chance at competing at the National Championships 2018 in March.
