Sharanjit's Home-going Services

Donation protected
Sharanjit passed away on June 26th's early morning after being stabbed in his chest by his cousin at their Queens, NY residence. Sharanjit was only 26 years old.

On-going investigation and updates

Sharan's Story (Facebook Profile)

Sharanjit is from a small town in India. He came to America about 4 years ago to look for opportunities and help his parents back home. He was a hardworking kid and loved to drive. He was driving for multiple hail-services for the past 6 months after acquiring a driver's license.

Sharan was kind hearted and always willing to help anyone in need. He was always happy and not confrontational. He tried to do his best to help his family back in India. He worked hard and long hours and barely stayed home.

He lived with his cousins who he had good relations with. The suspect (Lovedeep) was his cousin and Sharan would have never suspected Lovedeep of harming him.

Sharan loved to travel. He has lived in London before moving to the US but always wanted to go back to India to be close to his parents and siblings.

Sharan's Family

Sharan's parents are currently in India and need to obtain a visa to come to the United States. However, obtaining a US visa is very hard at the moment. Sharan has a twin brother in London and an older brother in India. He was very close to his brothers and talked to them routinely.

His family here includes uncles, aunts, cousins along with numerous friends, but unfortunately not his parents or siblings.

Sharan's Funeral and Home-going

We are planning on sending Sharan back home so his parents, brothers and close ones can see him one last time. We are currently waiting for an autopsy to be completed. We will be holding a viewing service sometime next week but our plan is to send him and his close ones to India so we can have a funeral there.

About Me

My name is Barjinder Singh. Sharanjit is my cousin-in-law. Sharanjit and I have been close friends ever since he emigrated to US but we have known each other for quite some time before that. Sharanjit and I are from same districts back in Punjab, India. We have strong family ties both in India and US.

Sharanjit always stayed in touch with me after moving to US. Sharan and I have hung out together numerous times. Last time I saw Sharan was when he visited my house 3 weeks ago. He never needed a reason to come over but he would come over anytime he felt the urge to.

Sharanjit's cousin Vikramjit (my brother-in-law) and I are actively working with the detectives, funeral home, and other family members to make sure everything is taken care of in a timely manner.

We are constantly in touch with Sharanjit's parents and siblings. We are trying our best to make sure we are able to provide what we can for the family. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to me.

Sharanjit's close family, Vikramjit and I will be attending the Karamjot Sikh Center located in Van Wyck Expy, South Ozone Park, NY on Sunday, July 2nd. We will be accepting donations in person as well.
