In January 2014 I am participating in a sixth-month volunteer project to Ghana with the company uVolunteer.

For my 6 months in Ghana I am volunteering in an orphanage project and I believe it will be my chance to make a difference to some of the children in the diverse country of Ghana.

My decision to volunteer in Care within Ghana has been influenced by many factors: I am extremely interested in the culture of Ghana as well as the diversity and people; this has strongly influenced my decision to help people within the country as I want to first-hand experience an in-depth view of the country. Secondly, I have a strong interest in the care sector and I want to challenge myself and develop my skills in this diverse country; after my 6 months in Ghana I hope to study a Social Work BA (Hons) degree in Scotland and work in the care sector, because of this I feel as if my experience within Ghana will invaluable, especially as a young student.

I feel that I will be able to make a huge difference in my time . However, to make this happen I need to raise the money, this will fund nearly everything. Some examples of what this will fund are my food, accommodation, vaccinations, visa costs, in-country travel, airport pick-up and departure but there is a lot more this covers.
