Help Send Dominic to Washington, DC

Donation protected
Family and friends,

I am seeking your help to send my 11-year-old son Dominic to Washington, DC!!  Dominic was nominated by his teacher to attend a once-in-a-lifetime program called the "People to People World Leadership Forum." The program is only open to  a select group of students, nominated by someone who sees their strong leadership skills and desire to engage in civic service. Dominic was nominated by his teacher Mrs. Sara Lamarre at the Wood School in Fairhaven and will be the only student from his school to attend the program!

What makes Dominic unique and perfect for this opportunity is that even though he is only 11 years old, he is extremely empathetic, selfless, and always wants to help others. He is passionate about public service and believes in using government and laws to help people. We have spent much time volunteering, including recently volunteering to feed the homeless with Mobile Loaves and Fishes. Dominic also volunteers with his church throughout the year, donated some of his birthday gifts to the Toys for Tots gift drive, and made seven shoeboxes to donate to Operation Shoebox.

In school, Dominic is constantly recognized for his efforts to make a difference and help his classmates. He stands up againts bullies and receives many "Peacebuilder Awards" which are given to students who show respect for their classmates and serve as a positive and influential class role model. Sometimes, Dominic comes home with these on a weekly basis!

I couldn't be more proud that Dominic has been nominated for this opportunity. Although costly, this program will change his life. He will travel by himself to meet with other students who have been nominated for their leadership qualities.

The program will take place in Washington, DC and lasts for one whole week. The itinerary is full with events and activities from morning until night. Some of the big highlights include visiting our national monuments, enjoying an exclusive dinner at the embassy, and the chance to meet face-to-face with members of Congress.

I know my son deserves this and I hope this letter convinces you too. I am asking for help with donations, no matter how small, to help offset the program costs. I am eternally grateful to all of you  for your support. Thank you!
