My name is Vanessa Burciaga, and I am a Photojournalist, and teaching artist from Chicago, IL. I am incredibly excited to have an opportunity to attend Momenta’s Nonprofit and Multimedia Workshop— a summit where I will gain professional development from internationally prized photojournalists. The two summits I am interested in, take place in Los Angeles and New Orleans. These annual summits teach Photojournalists about photographing in the Nonprofit (NFP) sector.
What I hope to do with this opportunity is to perfect my craft, learn new photography and editing tools, and most importantly, use these skills to assist NFP's in Chicago and the Midwest better.
I have been interested in attending this Momenta summit for a few years, but the opportunity never presented itself with more urgency than it has to me now. I believe it is a pivotal time to help support the missions of organizations across the NFP sector who are doing work that creates change in the cities in which they operate.
Funds collected would cover the cost of attendance and budget for a rental car. I hope to be able to completely cover the cost of attendance by February 14, 2018.
No amount is too great or too small to help me reach my goal of becoming a more educated and experienced photojournalist. Your support can mean a share of this campaign on social media also!
