Send UofT Divest BDS & SAIA to NSJP
Dear friends,
The annual National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP) conference is happening this year from November 16-18 at UCLA, Los Angeles in California. UofT Divest BDS Committee and Students Against Israeli Apartheid are excited to send a delegation this year for the first time to attend the conference! These gatherings are an important way to build the BDS movement, strengthen networks, and learn from one another. To help us in covering costs for flights, registration and travel, we are asking for the community’s financial support in helping us send student organizers from the University of Toronto to UCLA for the NSJP conference. Donate here and help us build the BDS movement now!
This year’s theme for the conference is “Radical Hope: Resistance in the Face of Adversity.” In Palestine, we are seeing the bravery and resilience of Palestinians in their continued resistance against occupation, colonization, and apartheid, including daily home demolitions, ongoing Zionist military encroachment on Palestinian lands, constant surveillance, and checkpoints. It is from them we learn the meaning and practice of radical hope. At the same time, across campuses globally, students, faculty and community organizers continue to build the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanction movement until Israel complies with human rights and international law, while resisting the ongoing attempts to silence and criminalize solidarity with Palestine. This conference brings organizers together to connect and build the struggle across Turtle Island for justice in Palestine, which will help us strengthen the work here at the University of Toronto.
Donate today to help build the BDS movement at the University of Toronto and on campuses across Turtle Island / North America. All donations, big or small, would be greatly appreciated.
We ask all our supporters, allies, and friends to donate and to share this fundraiser with others.
In solidarity,
