Send the Hahns to Japan

Donation protected

Amelie and Victoria have both been studying the violin since the age of 4. As students of the Suzuki Method they have both become talented and dedicated musicians.

Every few years, Pineland Suzuki School, the violin school they attend, plans a trip to go to Japan and study in Dr. Suzuki's home town. This is an incredibe opportunity for the girls to travel abroad and study music with kids from another culture.

Leaving on July 25th. for ten days the school  will be traveling from Tokyo to Aomori and to Matsumoto stoping along the way to study and play music in group classes and in daily performances.  While in Matusumoto they will get to participate in the Suzuki summerschool program.

Pineland Suzuki does a lot to raise money in the form of busking, having dinners, silent auctions even a seed sale(Maine friends only please) .  A good portion of the girls travel, including tution to the summer school, will be covered.

But in order to go the girls need to have at least one parent accompany them. We estimate that it will cost us an additional $3,000 - $3500 per parent to go which will include airtavel, hotels and meals. Both Amelie and Victoria have told us they want the whole family to go together and we feel this is a once in a lifetime chance to have a worldly, cultural experience together.

Even if  only one parent chaperones, this is an exciting opportunity for our girls  and we are looking forward to them experiencing life and music in Japan. For both Kamala and I to go we would ultimately need to raise between $5-6,000. We appreciate any donation amount you can give, even five bucks brings us closer to our goal! Thank you so much for your consideration.
