Send The Beartones to ICCA Finals!

The Beartones (Missouri State University’s All-Male A Cappella Group) recently placed First in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) Midwest Semifinal in St. Louis this past weekend.

This means we will be moving on to New York City to compete in the ICCA Finals as one of the top ten collegiate a cappella groups in the world.

This is an incredibly special opportunity for The Beartones and Missouri State University because it has almost been 10 years since we last reached Finals. Annually, over 400 groups compete and most groups do not reach Finals, nor ever will. Many of the members from 2009 still talk about how life changing this experience was for them as they ended up placing 3rd. The experience impacted them so much that many of them have already planned to join the current members in New York City for Finals.

Their experience was only possible through the financial support of friends, family, and fans.

The Beartones are proud to be a completely student run organization. Sadly, being a student run organization has its challenges. The Beartones are completely self-funded through gigs, concert revenue, member contributions, and limited money through the Student Organization Funding Allocation Council (SOFAC).

We are currently planning different fundraisers to aid in funding for this trip, but sadly, without your support we are not sure that this trip will be possible.

The purpose of this message is to simply ask for your help in accomplishing this dream.

We plan on using all of the money on travel and lodging, so we've broken the down the costs so that you know exactly how your money is being spent:

We approximate that flights (after taxes) will be $300 a person 

300 x 15 = $4,500

We approximate that lodging for the trip (after taxes) will be $200 a person

200 x 15 = $3,000
