SEND STUYVESANT TO HARVARD, PLEASE

Stuyvesant High School's Speech and Debate Team is one of the largest and most successful teams in the country.  With nearly 200 members in  5 different types of Debate and in 8 Speech categories, we try every year to raise the funding that will enable us to attend some of the biggest National Tournaments.  Harvard is one such tournament.  Last year, our Policy Debate Team won both the round Robin and the actual tournament.  Our PF team won their round robin and got to finals in the tournament.  Stuyvesant students deserve to attend this national tournament.  The difficulty is that more than half of our team is on free or reduced lunch, and many of our members simply cannot afford the expenses  associated with this trip.  Harvard is one of the most costly tournaments in the country to attend.

At Stuyvesant, students who can afford to pay for trips do.  We NEVER deny a deserving student the opportunity to travel because of financial need.  We are fundraising to help the students who cannot afford to go, but because of their dedication and success, deserve to go.

This funding will be used 100% to help cover the costs of registration, travel, hotel, and transportation. No donation is too small. Everything helps.
