Send Shannon to Isla in Style

I want to share the story of my friend Shannon. I want to share the story of a brave, beautiful person who has got sparkling eyes, spitfire wit, and more love in one corner of her being than many have in their whole world. I want to share her story, but I don't have the words. 

I tried to start this page a long time ago, but it felt like "giving in" to the potential prognosis and giving up on a cure. It still does.

So here it is in blunt words that I think my friend Shannon and her lovely wife Lynn will appreciate: She has cancer. It just plain doesn't look good. Of course we are all hoping/praying/wishing for all of the miracles and wrong-doctors in the world, but we also need to face that there is a lot of "yuck" in the diagnosis.

Shannon and Lynn are going to their favorite place to escape. In their typical fashion they are turning down offers to help, but wouldn't it be awesome if they could live like royalty on their vacation? Or, if enough funds were raised, wouldn't it be great if they could pay a few bills with less worry? 

Insert all the blah blah blah about "every dollar helps" here. Let's face it - when friends and family hear something like this, we all feel helpless. This is a little way that we can feel a little less helpless. 

Take an extra moment to love the people close to you, send some love and a few dollars to Shannon, and peace be with you all.
