The 2017 season proved that San Marcos has once again proved it’s a nationally revered program. Despite much a smaller roster than in years past we remained a mainstay in the Under Armour MCLA Coaches Poll as one of the top-25 teams in the nation. We finished the 2017 regular season with a 8-4 record, recorded our first victory of a D1 program, went undefeated in Texas, recorded our fifth consecutive winning season, and made the conference playoffs for the fourth straight year.
As we continue to bring in top-tier players from right here in Southern California and across North America, my coaching staff will ensure we develop our young men to their full potential both on and off the field. Entering his first season with the team, Logan Benci has instilled a foundational understanding of the game and the value of dedication and teamwork, in order to get them ready for the grueling lacrosse season and beyond.
During the upcoming season, we will be traveling to Los Angeles for four games and then to San Francisco for a two-game trip. Our players’ safety is my #1 priority, so in order to ensure we are able to travel safely and efficiently, we’re asking for your help.
As many of you know, our student-athletes cover most of the costs associated with playing collegiate lacrosse, and all of these resources and opportunities have taken a great financial commitment, both from them and from many of you. So, it is with great humility and appreciation that I ask for your support as we attempt to cover our travel costs for the 2018 season by raising $5,000.
