WE DID IT: Get Lexi to Spain for Study Abroad

Donation protected
UPDATE: I completed my summer study abroad trip. Thank you to everyone who contributed for making this life-changing experience come true. My name is Lexus Hardeman. I am a first-generation college student, biology major attending the prestigious Clark Atlanta University. I was born and raised on the Westcoast, in the rainy city of Tacoma, Washington. To have the opportunity to attend an historical black university is without a doubt one of the best decisions I have made thus far. Recently I completed my first semester earning a 3.81 GPA. Furthemore, received a place on the Dean's List.

In addition to my outstanding academics, I have been selected to study abroad for 4 weeks in Ferrol, Spain at Complexo Hospitalario Universitario Arquitecto Marcide with the Atlantis Clinical Observation Fellowship. Atlantis
( COF) is a competitive physician shadowing program with placements in Europe or South America over the summer. Any experience that validates your passions, challenges your beliefs, and feeds your curiosity is one worth treasuring. I know that my time with Atlantis(COF) will be unmeasured. The focus is to be compliant with doctor observation and reflection. I will have the opportunity to join a group of pre-med students like myself from universities around the United States and shadow doctors in various specialties for over 60 hours while abroad.

I am reaching out to all my family and friends because I am in need of financial assistance to achieve this opportunity. Through Atlantis, I can discover similarities and differences in medicine as practiced in the United States and elsewhere. Overall, Atlantis( COF) will enlarge my perspective on the medical field and patient care as a whole. The Atlantis (COF) will steer me without a doubt, to become a doctor and why.  I will gain experiences to which I will always be able to point to remind me why I chose this challenging and tenacious road. Additionally, travaling abroad to  Ferrol, Spain will open my eyes and heart to the possibility of returning to someday to work alongside doctors without boarders. I do appreciate you taking the time to read this, any financial contribution you can provide for this enriching experience would be greatly appreciated.
