Send Kids to A Wrinkle in Time

A little over a year ago we raised money to send nearly 200 kids to see Hidden Figures. This year, we want to do it again with A Wrinkle in Time.
The movie, based on the classic, award winning book by Madeleine L'Engle, give kids a chance to see themselves represented on screen and behind the camera as well. The screenplay was written by a woman, directed by a woman of color and features a diverse cast. As many of us know, there are few things more powerful for a person of any age than seeing ourselves represented in media. We want to encourage these kids to tell their stories and that no matter who we are, what we look like or how we identify, there are people who want to hear them.
This year we're trying to send over one hundred 7 & 8th grade students from Fairfax County, VA. They are 60% POC, with 40% being on free or reduced lunch. Seeing movies is a rare treat for them, and they are already so excited by this opportunity they're now reading the book in school in anticipation.
Just $15 takes care of one kid's admission and snacks. I know we're all stretched thin, but let's show these kids a good time as well as a world of possibilities.
