Isabella Read, an honor student in her junior year at Lake Placid High School, has been accepted to a five week pre-college summer session at prestigious Maryland Institute College of Art. This is a wonderful opportunity for her both academically and socially.
Isabella has had several art pieces on display at local art shows including the Lake Placid Center for the Arts and the North Country Community College. The past two summers Isabella attended the New York State Summer School of the Arts four week program at SUNY Fredonia where she thrived and earned college credits.
Isabella works at the Whitebrook Dairy Bar and the Candyman Homemade Adirondack Chocolate Shoppe, both in her hometown of Wilmington, NY. She also donates her time and skills to various programs in her community. She has volunteered at the Lake Placid Elementary after school art program, the Lake Placid High School Drama Club and the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge.
The tuition for Isabella to attend MICA is $6,130. She has received a financial aid grant of $2,730. leaving a balance of $3,400. Isabella can pay for her travel, lodging, art supplies and spending money but needs help with the balance of her tuition.
Any and all contributions to help Isabella obtain this goal will be greatly appreciated!!
