Ok, so, boom...
-Black woman decides to create board games so that other Black people can see themselves in board games.
-Black woman launches HILLMAN THE GAME based on A Different World nostalgia because Hillman is dope.
-People start talking about the game and eventually word gets to another Black woman in Omaha that started a non-profit called Afros, Capes & Curls.
-Afros, Capes & Curls will be hosting "AfroCon" on July 20th at Metro Community College in Omaha, NE.
-Black woman is invited to bring her game, appear on a panel at AfroCon and have Blerds (Black Nerds) from all over Nebraska hear her story and play HILLMAN THE GAME.
-Black woman needs help getting to AfroCon and back home to Columbia, SC.

I'm Tanisha Hall and [SPOILER ALERT] I'm the Black woman in this story.  I'm excited and honored to be invited by the House of Afros, Capes and Curls to AfroCon 2019 in Omaha, NE.  AfroCon is a community building event that includes panels and workshops about representation and its importance; consumerism and economic development of the black dollar; nerd culture and vehicles for k-12 educational achievement.  The public is invited to support an ethnically diverse range of independent artists and businesses with all the loot folks can carry.  Most importantly AfroCon is a safe space for the celebration of nerd culture and black culture.

As an entrepreneur, start up business woman, wife and mother,  I do a lot, I wear many hats and I seriously need help to travel for this opportunity.  Thankfully, The House of Afros, Capes and Curls is supporting half of my flight costs to Nebraska.  I need help with the cost of lodging, food and transportation to sites in Omaha during the convention weekend.   I will need the funds by May 30th to book the flight and accommodations in time for the conference.

This is an incredible chance to not only spread the word about HILLMAN THE GAME but to also reach out and become a part of a community of gamers, game developers, Blerds and local leaders in a  city that cares enough of about being for the culture to come together and create such a space.  I've already begun introducing my game to schools and organizations in Columbia, SC and let me tell you...to look into the eyes of a child and teach them about HBCUs and how Black people create board games too is priceless.  I'm working on a movement that is bigger than the occasional game night and so it would mean so much to start such a journey and show the world what a village can do.

Any help is a big help and every single donation is literally contributing to history.  Please visit afroscapescurls.com/afrocon for information on The House of Afros, Capes and Curls as well as info about AfroCon.  You may also visit IASgames.com to learn more about my board game company and HILLMAN THE GAME.  If you have any questions, please send me a message so that I may answer ASAP!

I appreciate you reading all of this and I look forward to hearing from you and telling you all about AfroCon this summer!  Thank you and thank you again.

Sincerely,
