Send Hadija to university in Kenya

I first met Hadija when I was living in Tanzania in 2010. She was 17 years old and determined to finish secondary school despite attending a village school with a teacher shortage. With the help of my friends and family around the world, I have run several fundraising campaigns and supported Hadija through her secondary school career. After many struggles and challenging national exams, I am proud to tell you that Hadija has graduated secondary school!
After much reflection and prayer, I've decided to support her dream to attend university. Her goal is to become a medical doctor. She has been accepted to Kenyatta University in Kenya. She will be working towards a Bachelor of Medicine. I've committed to this because I believe in her. I believe she will be successful, and I believe she will in turn help many people in Africa.
My goal is to raise $2960 CND for her tuition and living expenses. This will cover a year of tuition, books, supplies, food and dormitory fees. Courses begin in a few weeks, so I am amining to raise this money by the middle of September. Here is the breakdown of the funds needed (all in Canadian dollars):
tuition at Kenyatta University: $1,810
books/school supplies: $550
dormitory: $280
*extras: $320 (includes medical checkups/expenses, clothing, pocket money, emergency money, bus fare home for school holidays)
I believe that education empowers women, and it is the only way to break the poverty cycle. Hadija communicates with me once a month so I always know how she's doing. Every time I talk to her she always asks me to say "thank you" to her sponsors and tell you that she is praying for you. She is overwhelmed that complete strangers are funding her education!
