Send D.C. Students to We The People Nationals

Donation protected
For the first time in 10 years, a DC Public School has the opportunity to attend the We The People National Competition held in our own backyard. This is an opportunity for students from around the country to show off what they know about the US Constitution through a series of "hearing" questions where teams of 3 will present a prepared answer and answer follow up questions in front of a series of judges.  http://www.civiced.org/national-finals-2019

HD Woodson HS is a neighborhood public school in Ward 7, one of the poorest in the city. We are 100% Free/Reduced Price Lunch and over 25% Special Education.  Our students are resilient, innovative and have drive to speak truth to power that can be used to change the world.

We won the city-wide competition and have qualified to attend the national competition. It is very expensive. We won a grant that paid for most of the costs, but we still have $3,000 to go.  These funds will be used to pay the program so we can attend the competition at the end of April.
