<div><strong>Help Canterbury Shakespeare Festival Bring Macbeth to Armenia!</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In 2024, Canterbury Shakespeare Festival (CSF) was invited to participate in the Armenian Shakespeare Conference in Yerevan. Our Managing and Artistic Directors travelled to Armenia, shared our work, met local artists, and saw an unforgettable production of Romeo &amp; Juliet at the Yerevan Chamber Theatre.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This visit planted the seed for something extraordinary.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are delighted to announce that CSF has now been invited back — not just to speak, but to collaborate. In April 2026, our Managing Director and Artistic Director will spend six weeks working with Armenian actors to direct and produce Macbeth at the Yerevan Chamber Theatre… in Armenian!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is an incredible honour for a small, volunteer-run festival from Canterbury. And a rare opportunity to exchange artistic ideas, showcase Canterbury’s cultural talent internationally, and build lasting creative relationships.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why This Matters</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Canterbury Shakespeare Festival exists to bring Shakespeare to life through accessible, engaging performances and community involvement, offering opportunities for amateur, semi-professional and professional artists alike. <a href="https://www.canterburyshakespeare.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://www.canterburyshakespeare.co.uk" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.canterburyshakespeare.co.uk</a></a>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This international collaboration supports our mission by:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>✔ Representing Canterbury on a global cultural stage</strong>
</div>
<div><strong>✔ Sharing British theatre-making with Armenian artists</strong>
</div>
<div><strong>✔ Strengthening international artistic partnerships</strong>
</div>
<div><strong>✔ Inspiring the next generation of performers back home</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It also aligns with our vision to make Canterbury a vibrant cultural hub where classic works connect communities across borders
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why We’re Fundraising</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To keep the festival’s work at home running sustainably, only two directors will travel, but there are still unavoidable costs, including:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Flights
</li>
<li>Accommodation
</li>
<li>Local travel
</li>
<li>Rehearsal &amp; production expenses
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are aiming to raise<strong> £1,500 </strong>to cover these essentials without diverting funds from our community shows, workshops, and outreach in Kent.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How You Can Help</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every contribution makes a difference:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li><strong>£10</strong> helps with daily travel costs
</li>
<li><strong>£25</strong> supports rehearsal space &amp; materials
</li>
<li><strong>£50</strong> contributes towards flights
</li>
<li><strong>£100+</strong> directly funds accommodation &amp; production logistics
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you’re unable to donate at the moment, <strong>sharing the campaign</strong> helps just as much!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Be Part of the Story</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’re incredibly proud that a grassroots Canterbury festival has been invited onto an international platform. And we’d love you to be part of this journey.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Together, we can bring Macbeth to Armenia, strengthen cultural ties, and ensure CSF continues to inspire audiences both at home and abroad.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Thank you for supporting theatre, collaboration, and community!</strong>
