Hello everyone!
I am so excited to share that a short play I wrote has made the semi finals in Samuel French's Off-Off Broadway Festival! The top 30 plays (out of over 900 entries!) were invited to perform at the festival in New York City in August. Finalists will be selected from those performances, and then the top 6 plays will be published. PUBLISHED!
This is an amazing opportunity, and I could really use some help to make it happen. Being invited to participate in the festival is an incredible honor, but the financial burden of bringing a show to New York falls on the playwright. Local non-profit, Spirit Gum Theatre Company, is producing the show artistically, but I would so appreciate any funds you would be willing to donate to help this dream come true.
All donated funds will be used to transport and house our production team, as well as provide makeup and costume needs. We have evaluated costs to make this trip as economical as possible, and have committed to going to New York no matter what. Your generosity will allow us to put on a better show, giving me a better chance at becoming a finalist.

Stay for Dinner is a ten minute romantic comedy.
Joe is stuck. Quite Literally. His seasonal job playing a severed head at a haunted house has its ups and downs. On one hand, he spends his time confined to a space under a table, unable to even scratch his nose. On the other, he gets to enjoy the thrill of frightening strangers and spending most of his time chatting with his crush, Jenny. But how does a guy make his move when he can't... move?
If this sounds familiar, you probably attended Spirit Gum's fall fundraiser and got to see it as a staged reading. Your response to the reading and encouragement were the reasons I felt confident enough to submit the play so thank you, thank you, thank you!
