In a process that's been five years in the making, God has given me the opportunity to attend Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
As a Communications Major, I'll be studying various mediums including writing, radio, video, and publishing. It's a field I've always been passionate about, and I can't wait to see what ways God wants to use me.
The wonderful thing about Moody is that my tuition is paid for, thanks to institute donors and FAFSA. All that's left is to pay room and board, which is about as much as tuition at a public university in Texas.
Moody has a relatively affordable option in their five-month payment plan, which is about $1500/month. They require two months payment before move in day on August 16. However, as of right now, neither I nor my family have the resources to meet that number.
I've been unemployed since December, because I resigned from my job to live at Immanuel Mission in Arizona this past semester. Ever since I returned home, I've been on the lookout for any opportunities to work. While I've found some odd jobs here and there, it's not even close to the amount I need.
The $2600 goal is solely payments for the months of July and August. They include room, board, and general institutional fees. Moody requires all undergraduate students to live on campus, so this expense is mandatory.
I confess, making this GoFundMe page was not a decision I took lightly. My parents raised me to value diligence and financial independence. However, after much prayer, I believe God is leading me to put this up to notify loved ones of my need.
If you're reading this, know that I am by no means expecting you to give. Coming from a family where money is tight, I understand if you can't. If the Lord is leading you to give, I will be exceedingly grateful. My mind would be blown even at the smallest gift.
Regardless if you're able to give financially or not, what I need the most is prayer. Please pray that God would provide peace in the midst of my uncertainty, guide me in His will, and strenghten me in these circumstances.
