When I damaged my upper jaw in an accident, my two front teeth broke and the two adjacent teeth suffered nerve damage and later died.
Without dental implant surgery, the bone where I lost my teeth would resorb - basically shrink - if there is no tooth present. Eventually, after the bone shrinks away, the jawbone underneath begins to shrink as well. And then you have to deal with all sorts of unpleasant things like not having a jawbone. Unfortunately, my treatment was not covered under health insurance, so I will need to pay all costs out-of-pocket.
While I saved up for the surgery as much as possible, timing was a huge factor as the more time goes by, the more the bone will resorb. It was impossible for me to save all the money I needed to make a timely start on treatment, so I created this crowdfund campaign to ask for your help with the medical costs, which include three surgeries, medication, and CT scans.
Fundraising Goals
$2,200 - bone graft surgery
+$210 - post-surgery follow-up
+$300 - CT scan and bloodwork

I initially was undergoing treatment at a medical university hospital here in Tokyo; however, after suffering through a botched surgery with insufficient anesthesia that caused severe trauma, I switched hospitals to a private practice that came highly recommended.
My new doctor is great and we are finally nearing completion on my treatment after years of delays, but I still have quite a few medical costs to cover. This crowdfund is to help with my outstanding medical expenses.
All donors who leave their contact info will get a personal thank you, a photo of my new smile at the end of my treatment, and a personalized tour of Tokyo if you ever come to my city!
