My name is Kristina Roche and I am a third year elementary teacher. This year my fifth graders have the amazing opportunity to attend Science Camp! This camp is located in the mountains and they will be there for two nights and three days! During this time, students are fully immersed in the outdoors. While they unplug for the few days, they are able to hike, stargaze, tell stories, gain a little independence, all while learning and experiencing science first hand! I have three students who would like to attend science camp but their families are unable to afford the camp fees.
These students have talked to me about how badly they want to attend science camp and although their families are unable to afford it, they are wanting to try to raise money on their own. Each of them are selling candy bars for a fundraiser. They told me they would sell at least one box of candy which would take $30 off their total price. I think giving them the opportunity to raise money is important for them to take some ownership of their trip as well!
These three students are all truly kids of character! They are trustworthy, respectful, caring, responsible, fair, and great little human-size citizens who I truly believe are going to grow up to be amazing contributors to our world! These students are friends, allies, and awesome supporters to their peers. These kids all strive to constantly have a growth mindset and always believe in the power of YET. They are kind and thoughtful and they love to dance and play four square during recess. These kids are silly, sweet, and full of life. Their laughter can brighten anyone's darkest days and their faces turn the most adorable shade of red when they get shy. I could go on and on about how totally amazing these students are and how I think the world of each of them. These kids deserve to go to science camp and anything you can/want to donate would be greatly appreciated by these kids and by me.

Cost for three students: $750
