Many of you will be shocked and surprised when you read this and will soon be gripped with the reality that life is short. In a moments notice the perfect world you know today is shattered. As a family, we encountered that this week.
Our beautiful mother, Selina Detwiler, has been diagnosed with an advanced stage t-4 head and neck cancer. Her treatment requires a lengthy amount of time at MD Anderson in Houston starting next week. An envasive surgery is mandatory and it requires multiple weeks of recovery in Houston. The cure rate is at 60-80% with surgery being the primary focus followed by radiation.
This news isn’t easy to process and honestly it’s hard to even reason with. We know that family and friends are what make the world a sweeter place. Given the location of her cancer, talking is difficult. If you would like to reach out to her please use Facebook Messenger or text messaging.
