Hello!

My name is Luis Diego Díaz Gamboa, and I’m from a small town in Costa Rica. On June 17th, I will graduate with a degree in Physics, and I’ve recently been selected to be part of the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree “GREENANO”.

This highly competitive program in sustainable nanotechnology empowers students to tackle global challenges through science, innovation, and international collaboration. Out of over 560 applicants from around the world, I was honored to be selected as one of only 24 students to join this life-changing opportunity. I’ll begin this September in Nancy, France, at Université de Lorraine and includes semesters in Rome, Italy and Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The scholarship fully covers my tuition and provides a monthly stipend. However, it will take several weeks after arrival for the first payment to be processed and deposited. During this time, I need to cover essential living expenses on my own — including a housing deposit and the first month of the rent, food and clothes, transportation (including flight tickets), and administrative fees.

That’s why I’m launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise €2500 EUR (≈ $3,000), which will help me transition smoothly and safely into this new chapter abroad. This opportunity means the world to me.
