Why Are We Adopting From Ethiopia? (see this video below)

There are over 147 million orphans in the world. God has disturbed our family to the place where we can't just turn away and pretend that 'God will just take care of them'. We believe that WE are His hands and feet in the world. While we can't change the world for every single orphan, we can be obedient to what He has called us to do which is to adopt a little girl from Ethiopia. Where He takes us next to impact the world, only God knows. We're taking it one step at a time.
A year and a half ago, we finished saving and raising all of the funds we would need for our adoption AT LEAST WE THOUGHT SO. The process was estimated to take 12-18 months; however, in dealing with 2 different governments and the importance of making sure adoptions were ethical, our adoption journey has taken about 3 1/2 years to complete. Each additional month that passed meant that we also incurred additional unpredicted costs that ate into our fund.
Right now, based on the amount that the non-profit who manages our adoption fund quotes, we have a deficit of $6,000. This will take care of travel expenses while we are traveling to and in Ethiopia. (We are required to take two separate 7-day trips.)
As we continue to save money, cut costs, and look for ways to increase revenue in our home, we'd love to have you become a part of this beautiful story that is unfolding. Here are some suggested ways that you can financially support our adoption:
