<div>Der Kreistag des Landkreises Konstanz hat 2019 beschlossen, die zivile Seenotrettung im Mittelmeer jährlich mit 10.000 Euro zu unterstützen und dem Bündnis „Sichere Häfen“ beizutreten. Dieser Beschluss wurde 2024 erneut bestätigt.

<div>Für den Haushalt 2026 sind nun zum ersten Mal seit sechs Jahren keine Mittel mehr für die Seenotrettung vorgesehen. Unser Antrag, die Unterstützung fortzuführen, hat im Kreistag keine Mehrheit gefunden.

<div>Das ist eine politische Entscheidung -  und sie steht im Widerspruch zu der Verantwortung, die der Landkreis bewusst übernommen hat.

<div>Die Situation im Mittelmeer ist unverändert dramatisch: Jedes Jahr sterben tausende Menschen auf der Flucht. Zivile Seenotrettung rettet Leben - ganz konkret, jeden Tag. Auch Sea-Eye, getragen von vielen Engagierten hier vor Ort in Konstanz, leistet diese lebenswichtige Arbeit.
