My sister and nephew have endured years of abuse perpetrated by her ex-partner - the father of my nephew. Court appointed mediation, CPS reports, police reports, and restraining orders have all failed to stop the absue these two experience.
Despite a well documented history of physical abuse and neglect - despite my nephew's desperate pleas that he not be forced to visit his father due to fears for his own safety - despite ongoing stalking and harrassment of my sister - family court has failed to intervene in this situatino in a meaningful way.
Due to an ongoing escelation of violence and absue - including a recent incident where my nephew's father stormed into a therapist's office and dragged my nephew away - my family has decided to help support my sister in pursuing increased legal protection. This will require significant legal assistance and will be costly. We have found an attorney willing to take her case and are hoping to at least raise enough money to cover the retainer which is $10,000.
This morning my mom and I received a text from my sister that said, "If anything were to happen to me, please know that I would never hurt myself. You have to help me protect my kids if I'm not around"
My family is desperate to keep my sister and nephew safe. Every single penny raised goes towards paying an attorney to help my sister win this case. A huge thank you in advance to any and all help
