That same day, I turned in my work badge and laptop to Wells Fargo and walked out of the job I loved. Overnight, I lost my legal right to work, my income, career and the stability I had spent years building. I didn’t lose these things because I did anything wrong, but because a policy decision was made—one that pulled the ground out from under my life.

<div>I’ve lived in the United States since I was four years old. This is the only home I’ve ever known. I grew up here, went to school here, worked here, paid taxes, and contributed to my community as much as I could. Like many TPS holders, I followed every rule, trusted the system, and built a life in good faith—only to be left in limbo when the protections I’ve had all my life ended without a path forward or way to become permanent.

<div>Being unable to work has meant more than lost wages. It’s meant losing independence, purpose, and the simple dignity of providing for myself. Bills still arrive, groceries still cost money and the stress of legal uncertainty can be debilitating. At the same time, I’m fighting for a chance to remain in the country I call home—a process that requires costly legal representation that I simply cannot afford right now.

<div>This GoFundMe exists primarily to help cover upcoming immigration legal fees but also to help with emergency living expenses as I pursue a pathway to citizenship. I’m blessed that there may be a path forward I’m exploring thanks to my wife and with help from a lawyer—though lots of uncertainty still remains. This process can take over two years to complete. Your support gives me more than financial relief, it gives me stability and hope. It allows me to keep fighting for the life I’ve spent decades building and for the chance to belong permanently to the only country that has ever been home to me.
