See The Spirit Soar

*****Updates since we began the campaign.  Thank You for all your support!!

*****We HAVE SECURED a hangar large enough to accommodate the 46' long Spirit wing span at the cost of $1,500 per month. We are most grateful to Sean for allowing us the use of his hangar at the reduced rate and thereby saving us $6,000 in the process!

*****The FAA issued the airworthiness certificate on July 18, 2019 .

*****We flew the MAIDEN FLIGHT on July 28, 2019 at the Arlington, WA Municipal Airport.
As with any new aircraft, there were a variety of "squawks" we noted during that flight which we        are working out now.  Once we have completed the maintenance inspection to correct the "squawks" noted, we will plan the FIRST PUBLIC FLIGHT so that all who wish to attend may join us to "See The Spirit Soar".

*****The Spirit of St. Louis by JNE will be on static display at the Arlington Fly-In: Aug. 16 - 18, 2019 .

John Norman had a dream of building his own Ryan NYP … better known as “The Spirit of St. Louis”

Along the way he met a man who convinced him that he should build an EXACT replica of that famous aircraft ... and that is how “The Spirit of St. Louis by JNE” came to be.

Starting from scratch, with tubing he ordered online in April 2012, John has built the most authentic replica Ryan NYP ever built (to date). He has funded the entire 7-year project entirely on his own with no sponsors involved in any aspect of the project.

You can learn more about the project by visiting the website at: www.jneaircraft.com and click on the “Project Histories” link and then the "Spirit of St. Louis" link in the menu.

There are numerous expenses involved in being able to “See the Spirit Soar”.

> > > We need a hangar large enough to accommodate the 46' long wingspan ... $1,500 per month

> > > Our Insurance Premiums are ... $1,700

> > > Because the Spirit of St. Louis by JNE is registered in “Exhibition” category with a restriction that she be accompanied by a “chase” plane for every flight, we need aviation fuel for both aircraft to fly the 33.5 hours of Phase 1 flight testing at a cost of $5.00 per gallon ...
..................... The Spirit of St. Louis by JNE burns 10 - 13 gallons per hour = $1675 - $2,177
..................... The "Chase" plane burns about 16 gallons per hour = $2,680

Your participation in helping to fund this event is most appreciated. Without enough funding, we will NOT be able to complete Phase 1 flight testing THIS year.  If you are not in a position to help financially ... (and we certainly understand what that is like) ... you CAN still help us by sharing this Go-Fund-Me campaign with your friends, family and acquaintances.

THANK YOU in advance for all you do to help raise the funds required so that we can all …

“See the Spirit Soar”.

Full Disclosure: All money donated is considered a gift with nothing expected in return. We are NOT a non-profit organization therefore no gifts provided (whether directly to JNE Aircraft LLC; to John Norman; or made through this Go-Fund-Me campaign) are tax deductible.

We hope the joy of being able to “See the Spirit Soar” will provide you with a greater sense of satisfaction than a tax deduction would!
