Securing Safe Housing for Quay Dash

Quay Dash is a trans artist known for her outstanding performances underground in New York City and internationally.  We are raising funds for her to find new and safe housing due to recent and ongoing harassment in her home. She has been harassed for as long as she has lived in the neighborhood and the building's management has not helped to repair anything in the apartment, including her door, which is fully unsecured. This has caused the living situation to become increasingly unstable over the last few years.

This past summer has been the most dangerous for her because of multiple people who won't leave her alone in the area. She has had people force themselves into her home and threaten her with physical violence, as well as constant verbal threats from individuals directly outside her building. She has also had a debit card stolen and unauthorized charges made to her bank account.

Last summer Quay also made a post on her Instagram about a neighbor who repeatedly threw bleach on her door. Incidents like these have contributed to the environment becoming more violent daily. No one should have to live in an unsafe environment where they can't even leave their home for fear of it being invaded when they come back. 

Black trans women are often targets for this type of violence in their homes and aren't taken seriously, or blamed when they reach out for help. Quay wants to get back to her career as an artist but can't do that until she feels safe at home. We are asking for donations so she can secure an apartment in a safer location, as well as money for future month's rent, food, provisions for her cat, and missing or stolen property.
