<div>Hello, my name is Christine, and I am 65 years old. I’ve spent most of my

<div>life caring for others, working as a nurse for nearly 30 years. Nursing was
</div>
<div>more than a job — it was my calling. I held hands during hard times,
</div>
<div>comforted families, and celebrated recoveries with patients. I never
</div>
<div>imagined that one day I would be in the position of needing so much care
</div>
<div>myself.
</div>
<div>Today, I am facing the fight of my life: Small Cell Lung Carcinoma.
</div>
<div> My Health Battles
</div>
<div>This is not my first battle with cancer. In 2016, I was diagnosed with Triple
</div>
<div>Negative Breast Cancer, one of the most aggressive forms. I made the
</div>
<div>hard decision to remove both of my breasts and underwent months of
</div>
<div>harsh chemotherapy. That time was a blur of surgeries, treatments, and
</div>
<div>endless doctor visits. But I fought through, and I won that battle.
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, cancer returned in March 2024, this time in my lungs. I had
</div>
<div>part of the upper lobe of my lung removed, followed by four months of
</div>
<div>invasive chemotherapy. The treatments have left lasting side effects: I rely
</div>
<div>on oxygen more often now, and the constant fatigue and confusion are
</div>
<div>overwhelming.
</div>
<div>In July 2024, a CT scan showed I am in remission for now, but doctors
</div>
<div>have explained that Small Cell Lung Carcinoma is incurable. The chemo
</div>
<div>only delays the progression. It’s a reality I have had to come to terms with:
</div>
<div>this cancer cannot be beaten.
</div>

<div> Why I Am Asking for Help
</div>
<div>I have always been independent, but cancer has stripped away both my
</div>
<div>health and my financial stability.
</div>
<div>● I am living on disability income, which barely stretches to cover food,
</div>
<div>medications, and basic needs.
</div>
<div>● I am behind on my rent and utilities, and I am actively applying for
</div>
<div>low-income housing so I can keep a roof over my head.
</div>
<div>● My car was repossessed earlier this year — with just one year left on
</div>
<div>the payments — leaving me without reliable transportation.
</div>
<div>● My savings are completely gone, spent on medical costs,
</div>
<div>prescriptions, and day-to-day survival.
</div>
<div>Every day feels like an uphill battle, not just physically but emotionally and
</div>
<div>financially as well.
</div>
