Second Chances- Robin's New Life

Donation protected

First of all, thank you for reading and being you. ❤️ If you’re receiving this it’s because you are a trusted and loving friend of ours.

Robin suffered from undiagnosed postpartum depression, after her 4th son, 6 years ago.  Thinking he was her last, she underwent a surgical procedure to stop her family from growing any larger. She then became part of the small statistical anomaly and got pregnant with her 5th son!  It was simultaneously traumatic and miraculous.  After, Quin was born her depression got worse.  She tried her best to be everything for everyone, thinking that the fatigue and depression was from being exhausted and depleted from little personal time or space.

As the condition took it's toll on her physically and  emotionally, she began to fall down the black hole of alcoholism. When she realized the severity of the situation, having grown up with alcoholism in her family, she went to treatment and got sober!

Last year, her marriage of 9 years unexpectedly fell apart. Having been a stay at home mom for 5 years, this was too much.  As one might expect, she unfortunately relapsed. In her inebriated state, it made no sense for her to go on being this depressed and miserable and now losing her husband, she made an unsuccessful attempt at suicide.

THANK GOD AND GODDESS it was unsuccessful! She told me later, that she experienced this sense of leaving her body and thought, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"  It was an AWAKENING experience to say the least.  Robin immediately returned to treatment and therapy.  This week she celebrated 10 months clean and clear! YAY!

During her time in treatment her husband, Tim, decided to move his new girlfriend into their home to "help with the boys".   Robin was then "allowed" back home and has somehow managed to co-exist in this Jerry Springer-esque situation without relapsing.

Robin now works full-time at Habitat for Humanity and LOVES her job!  Everyone has been very supportive.  But her living situation is toxic for all involved.  We have recently found a place for Robin that honors income based rent and will allow for all of her children to be there.

She is simultaneously excited and anxious to start this new chapter of her life and be able to be free of both substance abuse and an unhealthy relationship.

We all know that Robin would give us the shirt off her back before she would ever ask for help from anyone.  We are hopeful that she will be able to move into this new apartment by the end of this week!

That being said, while she will be able to afford the rent she doesn't have access to the immediate funds for a deposit and some basic furnishings.  For now, what she really needs is just her own sanctuary for her and the boys.

If you can, please support our Robin in making this HUGE next step for her healing, for her second chance at life, and for her and the boys' future.  Anything will help.

If you'd like to support her in another way please consider helping with the move, donating dressers, dining table/chairs, grocery gift certificates, sending prayers and good vibes, and texts/ messages of support and encouragement as she moves through this difficult transition.

We LOVE you, Robin!  Our lives are blessed because you're in it.  We are so so grateful to support you in moving forward towards a healthy and whole life!  You deserve it!

P.S. Because of the nature of the situation, if you'd like to share this, please do so privately as to not call attention on social media, aka drama fest!
