<div>My friend and fellow singer Sean Harris needs your help. Last weekend when we sang together at Unity Oak Park, Sean told me that he and his brother Jason are being evicted from their public assistance apartment in Highland Park, and he has to be out by the end of May. They have been living there since 2006, and as the place has changed hands the management became more and more draconian, with constant "inspections." The rent has gone up and down without explanation, their plumbing is a disaster with leaking toilets and a shower that will run only hot or cold water, not both. They got written up because of their furniture, and despite having won previous court battles with the company, when they got this eviction notice they decided that God has something better in store for them.

<div>Sean lost his sight to glaucoma at the age of 13, and music became his refuge and helped him to cope. He grew up listening to his mom's records, singing along with Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, Barry Manilow, EWF, operas, and broadway musicals. His voice became stronger after losing his vision, and he started winning high school singing competitions. Sean has been singing for 40 years in Chicago, at clubs, events, and churches, including Unity Church where we met. He sings with incredible talent, commitment, and heart...whether it's Steve Wonder or Angelitos Negros. What I know for sure is that this man has a gift from God, which he has shared generously and lifted up so many people with his voice!
