Dear Beloved: Love Letters for America

Peace. I build that these few words reach you in the highest of vibrations, as they are written at that level. May they smile on you and inspire you to act. You may not know me, except through the echo of my work. If my heart has opened a door for me, someone, touched by receiving a handwritten letter of affirmations, is sending this article to you. Please read it all the way through. What I am asking you to do is valuable. I will show you. I am telling you my name because it will make it easier for you to find information about me. My name is Kokayi Nosakhere. Please choose to google me. I am a community builder. And, I am an activist. I like to act and implement solutions. I want to live in a world which works for (almost) everyone. For that to happen, you and I must begin healing from the inside out. All of us must become brave enough to release our own genius as the solution to our problems. In April of 2016, I started writing Love Letters. By writing, I do not mean typing, like I am doing to write this column. I mean, writing - by hand. My first goal was 300 Love Letters, which I accomplished in one month. Here is what I wrote: Dear Beloved, Thank you for choosing to receive this handwritten expression of Love. I believe more life-affirming letters like these need to circulate throughout America, elevating our collective consciousness. This spiritual practice promotes healing from the inside out. Please choose to remind yourself: I am the Love vibration. I am peace personified. I am joy radiating outward. I am growth fully supported. These four affirmations are Truth activated inside your consciousness. As you choose to identify with these affirmations you will see them manifest in your life and the lives of others. It is called healing. I choose to be a part of my own healing. I invite you to be a part of your own healing. Let’s choose to heal together. To date, these handwritten words are circulating inside the minds, hearts and hands of over 5,000 Americans. A man named Charles Baker, who lives in Maryland wrote these beautiful words about the effect the Love Letters had on him. “The Love Letters are like palancas in their way. I first encountered them my sophomore year of high school, on a retreat with my classmates. Many of the palancas to me were from family and friends, so they are naturally quite different from palancas written by strangers; I read about how I had touched the lives of the people in my own life in a very raw emotive way. The Love Letters do this by affirming the greatest qualities of human beings, and by demonstrating those same qualities in the very fact that a stranger reached out to affirm them in someone else.” I know you felt what he wrote.
