Seán's Kilimanjaro Challenge 19!

Hi friends, family, ex-colleagues and contacts,
This year I hit the ripe old age of 48 (June) and my 'mid-life crisis' is definitely kicking in as in August I'm planning the following challenge:
- a 6 day hike/climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest mountain in Africa and world's highest freestanding mountain at an altitude of 5,895m/19,340 ft
...then to add a bit of extra spice to the trip...
- I'll be running the world's highest half marathon route (21km/13miles) from the summit of Kilimanjaro all the way down to the national park below.

I'm funding all expenses for the this adventure personally but I would like to raise as much money as possible from sponsorship for the following two good causes, Bantry Hospice and the Multiple Sclerosis society.
Bantry Hospice does vital work right across rural West Cork (where I and my family live) promoting the relief of illness and suffering and benefiting the community by establishing palliative care units for the care of people suffering from any chronic or terminal illness by providing for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs and those of their families and to enhance the quality of their daily lives by helping to manage pain and providing support and comfort.
My fantastic sister Victoria has lived with Multiple Sclerosis from her mid twenties and I've never heard her once complain about her condition even though it causes her considerable discomfort, difficulty with some every day tasks and worry for the future - I'm lucky to have my health and to be able to give Kilimanjaro a 'lash' as they say so I'd like to try and raise some funds too for MS research and support for sufferers.
I'd be really grateful If you would like to sponsor me for these two good causes, no matter how small or big the amount, it all helps.
