SEAD dance education

Hi!

My name is Jacob. I just got accepted into SEAD Experimental Academy of dance
in Salzburg, Austria! It is one of the best dance schools in Europe.
I went to the 2nd round audition early July and found myself suddenly with a
letter of acceptance from the school afterwards. It is the school of my dreams,
with international teachers and intense and professional dance training.

The school is private and therefore it costs a bunch of money. I am working a lot   during the summer and i am applying for grants to help fund the program. But the school is self payed, and then there will be costs for living in Salzburg and so on.    Therefore, any help in any form is hugely appreciated.
Be it 1 or 20€ or a share to your friends.

I have danced the most part of my life. I have always known it was something i was drawn to. Growing up with a lot of music and dance in my upbringing it has always been part of my life.

During highschool i was studying theater on the side:
This is from our very last show together, doing Shakespeare with everything that came with it ;)

My interest in dance started more seriously when i  went to Brazil. I went there   with a bunch of music students from Denmark to learn different brazilian dance
and music styles on a school in Salvador.  It was there i had my first encounter
with a style of dance, where the music and rhythms had such a big part to play.
There was a different energy to these dances,
a different connection and expression.
And it stayed with me.

The meeting with Brazil began a journey to West Africa,
Ghana and Senegal in particular. To learn the rhythms and dance styles from here. The encounter with these dance styles started something in me, and the thought of dancing as a long term thing came to life.

This is from a dance class in Senegal where i went for 2 months and studied Sabar

Dance and music has for me always been connected. In my childhood and upbringing, and in my life in general. Therefore the music culture of for example Brazil or Senegal have made a lot of sense to me. The rhythms are inherently connected to the dance steps and the dancers are connected to the drummers and musicians.

Now.. back to the dance school in Austria.
My aim with this school is to dedicate time to a 'full on' program of dance training. The school is very intense with international teachers coming from abroad to
teach and the days are sometimes up to 9 hours long.  I am sure that this will
provide me with an invaluable network and a deepening in dance that i can use
for the rest of my life.

This is from a music performance in Århus with Senegalese dancing and music.

I am utterly excited about starting in this place.

Any and all help is hugely appreciated!
Thank you to everyone who read this far! Big hugs to you all <3
