Ajude a Vitória a estudar na Universidade Soka da América!
Em janeiro deste ano, eu participei do processo seletivo da Universidade Soka da América (Califórnia, EUA), com o objetivo de fazer o curso de Artes Liberais. Em março, recebi a grata notícia de que havia sido aceita na universidade, porém com a condição de realizar um curso de aprimoramento de inglês fornecido pela própria universidade, o EBP (Extended Bridge Program). Esse curso é oferecido aos estudantes não nativos da língua inglesa para que possam desenvolver o inglês acadêmico e sejam capazes de aproveitar ao máximo as aulas da universidade. Infelizmente, não são oferecidas bolsas para esse programa, por isso preciso pagar o custo total do curso para poder ingressar na faculdade. Assim, preciso da sua ajuda pois sem esse curso não poderei ingressar na universidade ano que vem! Razões financeiras não deveriam ser uma barreira que nos impeça de seguir o que realmente acreditamos.

In January of this year, I applied to Soka University of America (California, USA) to study Liberal Arts. In March, I received the great news that I had been accepted into the university. However, my acceptance was under the condition of taking the EBP, an English as a Second Language program provided by the university itself. This course is for students whose first language is not English, so that they can develop their academic English and be able to enjoy the university classes. Unfortunately, scholarships are not offered for this program and, as a result, I need to pay the full cost of the course to be able to enter university. Therefore, I need your help because without this program I will not be able to become an undergraduate student next year! Money should not be a barrier that prevents us from following what we truly believe.

今年の１月にカリフォルニアにあるアメリカ創価大学を受験し、３月に合格通知を受け取る事が出来ました。しかしその通知には、大学１年生になる前にEBPという英語を第二言語とする学生のための英語力向上を目的とした８ヶ月のコースを受ける事が条件でした。このコースでは、大学４年間を英語で学ぶための上級レベルの英語を身に付けることを目的としたコースです。残念ながら、このEBPというコースに大学の方から奨学金は支給されず、この大学で将来勉強するためには、まず自分達でこのコースの授業料と寮代を支払わないといけません。しかし私の家族の経済状況では、払う事が困難な状況にあります。そこで、みんなの支援が必要不可欠です。経済格差によって私たちの夢が潰されるのは現実に起きてはならない事です。

Conheça um pouco sobre mim e minha trajetória
Meu nome é Vitória Robles e nasci em 2002 na cidade de São Paulo, Brasil. Meus pais são artistas e em 2004 eles fundaram juntos uma companhia de teatro de sombras. Então, desde pequena sou conectada ao mundo da arte. Sempre me esforcei para ser uma aluna de excelência que fizesse a diferença na sala de aula, conquistando, assim, bolsa de estudos nas três escolas em que estudei. Aos 7 anos nos mudamos para Taubaté, cidade do interior de São Paulo, onde comecei a fazer aulas de ballet na Escola Municipal de Artes Maestro Fêgo Camargo.
Meus pais sempre me apoiaram em minhas decisões e se comprometeram a investir em minha educação, quando possível. Assim, fiz o teste e fui selecionada para fazer parte da primeira turma do Ensino Médio do Colégio Soka do Brasil, em São Paulo. Fiquei encantada com o propósito da escola de proporcionar uma educação humanística e decidi realizar meus estudos nesse colégio para me desenvolver, não só como estudante mas também como ser humano. Por mais que eu me dedicasse na escola, nunca desisti da minha paixão: a dança. No fim do primeiro ano, ingressei para a Companhia Taiga de Dança. Já no início do segundo ano, consegui uma bolsa integral na escola de dança Al’Aire Espaço de Saúde e Cultura, participando de festivais de dança todos os meses.
Com essa escola de dança também fiz trabalhos voluntários em asilos, levando alegria aos idosos através da minha dança. Fiz apresentações de ballet em várias casas de idosos e percebi o quão importante é dedicar um momento do nosso tempo para levar amor, carinho e arte para pessoas que precisam de ajuda. Depois resolvi também ser voluntária em feiras de adoção de animais, ajudando animais abandonados a encontrarem novas famílias. Esse trabalho me fez refletir muito sobre nossa responsabilidade como seres humanos com relação aos animais e à natureza em si. Muitas vezes nos consideramos superiores e esquecemos que os animais são seres vivos, assim como nós, e que as ações do nosso cotidiano refletem diretamente na vida desses seres.
Durante esses três anos liderei diversas coreografias de dança que nós, alunos, apresentamos em eventos da escola como uma forma de gratidão a todos os pais, alunos, professores, funcionários e doadores do colégio. Todas essas experiências foram essenciais para o meu desenvolvimento como estudante Soka, que sempre procura por novos aprendizados e desenvolve seu potencial de criação de valor para a humanidade.
Know a little more about me and my trajectory
My name is Vitória Robles and I was born in 2002 in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. My parents are artists and in 2004 they founded a shadow theater company. Because of that, since I was little I have been connected to the art world. I have always strived to be an outstanding student that makes a difference in the classroom. Thus, I earned a scholarship in the three schools where I studied. When I was 7 years old we moved to Taubaté, a city near to São Paulo, where I started taking ballet classes at the Maestro Fêgo Camargo Municipal School of Arts.
My parents always supported me in my decisions and committed to investing in my education, when possible. In this way, I took the test and was selected to be part of the first high school class at Colégio Soka do Brasil in São Paulo. I was delighted with the school's mission of providing a humanistic education and decided to study there to develop myself, not only as a student but also as a human being. Despite my dedication to school, I never gave up on my passion: dance. At the end of the first year, I joined the Taiga Dance Company. At the beginning of the second year, I got a full scholarship at the Al’Aire Espaço de Saúde e Cultura dance school, participating in dance festivals every month.
With this dance school I also did volunteer work in nursing homes, bringing happiness to the elderly through my dance. I did ballet performances in several rest homes and I noticed how important it is to dedicate part of our time to bring love, affection and art for those who need care. Then I decided to volunteer at an animal adoption fair, helping abandoned animals to find new families. This experience made me think over our responsibility as human beings regarding animals and nature itself. Oftentimes we consider ourselves superior and we forget that animals are living beings as well as us and our daily actions affect their lives directly.
During these three years I led several dance choreographies that us, students, performed in school events to express our gratitude for parents, classmates, teachers, employees and donors. All these experiences that I had during my High School years were essential to my development as a Soka student, who is always looking for new learning opportunities and developing their potential to create value for humanity.

私の名前はビトリア ホブリズ (Vitória Robles)です。ブラジル、サンパウロの出身です。私の両親は芸術家で、２００４年に影絵劇場を設立しました。その影響もあり、私は小さい頃から芸術の世界に深く関わる事が出来ました。学校では常に優秀な生徒になることを目指し、クラスでは他のクラスメートと共にいかに勉学を深める事ができるか試行錯誤し続けました。その成果もあり、今まで勉強してきた３つの学校で奨学金も勝ち取る事が出来ました。私が７歳の時にサンパウロの近くのタウバテという町に引っ越した際には、私立のバレエ学校に通い芸術性を高めました。
私の両親は常に私をサポートしてくれ、可能な限り私の意見を尊重し、私の教育にも全力で支援してくれました。そのおかげで、私は嬉しいことにサンパウロに新しく設立された創価高校の第１期生となる事が出来ました。人間教育を基盤としたスクール指針に胸が高まる中、ただ単に生徒としてだけではなく人間としてもたくさん成長すると決意しました。勉学により一層力を入れる中、ダンスに対する熱意も変わることはありませんでした。高校１年生の終わりにはタイガダンスアカデミーに入り、ダンスを極め、２年生の始めには、毎月ダンスフェスティバルに参加すると共に、もっと本格的なダンススクールの授業料全額免除を勝ち取る事が出来ました。
このダンススクールではボランティア活動にも力を入れ、老人ホームに行きダンスを通して沢山の人に元気を届ける事が出来ました。他の老人ホームではバレエのパフォーマンスを通して、ケアの必要な人々のために愛情と思いやりいっぱいに接する事がどれほど重要であるかに気づきました。その後は、動物保護団体にて捨てられた動物たちのために新しい家族を見つけるボランティアをしました。私は、この経験を通して動物と自然に対する人間の責任についての理解を深める事が出来ました。人間は常に、どの動物よりも優れていると思い込み、他の動物は私達、人間と同じ生物であり、人間の日常的行動がどのように他の生物に影響を及ぼしているかを忘れがちだと思います。
高校３年間で私はダンスの振付師としてダンスの大会を通し、両親を始め、クラスメートや先生、学校で働く用務員や高校の寄付者に感謝を表す事が出来ました。振り返って見ると、常に新しいことを学ぶ姿勢とより良い人間性確立のための価値創造は創価の生徒として、高校での全ての経験は私の成長に不可欠でした。

Por que desejo estudar na Universidade Soka da América?
O meu maior desejo é contribuir para o bem da humanidade. Acredito que cada pessoa é única e que cada um de nós é capaz de desenvolver sua própria maneira de contribuir para o mundo. Futuramente pretendo defender os direitos dos animais e do meio ambiente, criando um diálogo entre empresas, governos e ONG's, estabelecendo uma relação de harmonia entre o homem e a natureza e solucionando problemas ambientais causados pelo ser humano, como, por exemplo, o plástico no oceano. Mas também pretendo desenvolver estudos sobre a dança e sua influência no cérebro, analisando os seus benefícios e unindo, assim, a arte e a ciência para contribuir para a humanidade.
A Universidade Soka da América (SUA) é uma instituição de educação humanística que aprimora líderes mundiais com um pensamento global. Seus alunos desenvolvem propostas para resolução de conflitos e ações baseadas no respeito à dignidade da vida. Com o estudo de Artes Liberais na SUA vou ter a oportunidade de desenvolver habilidades, como o pensamento crítico, a liderança e a comunicação, que são de extrema importância para o meu desenvolvimento e aprimoramento para decidir qual área de atuação irei seguir. Estou segura de que por meio dos estudos nessa instituição vou aprimorar e desenvolver minha maneira única de contribuir para a sociedade.
Why do I want to study at Soka University of America?
My greatest wish is to contribute to humanity in a positive way. I believe that each person is unique and that each of us is able to develop our own way of contributing to the world. I intend to, in the future, advocate for animals and environment riths, creating dialogues between companies, governments and NGOs, thereby establishing a harmonious relationship among human and nature and solving environment problems caused by us, such as plastic pollution in the ocean. I also hope to develop studies about dance and its influence on the brain, analysing its benefits and uniting art and science to contribute to society.
Soka University of America (SUA) is an institution with a humanistic education that fosters world leaders with global thinking. Its students develop proposals for conflict resolution and actions based on the respect for the dignity of life. With Liberal Arts curriculum at SUA, I will have the opportunity to develop skills, such as critical thinking, leadership and communication, which are extremely important for my personal development and improvement, as well as to help me decide which path to follow. I am sure that by studying at this institution I will improve and develop my own unique way of contributing to society.
なぜアメリカ創価大学なのか？
私の最大の夢はいい意味で人類の発展に貢献することです。どんな人も特別な存在で、その人ならではの使命があると思います。私は将来、動物と環境に関する仕事に携わり、政府、NGOs、会社などを繋ぎ人間と自然環境に平和的な関係性を保ち、海面に汚染するプラスチく問題などの人間が及ぼしている様々な環境問題解決に貢献していく人材になる決意です。また、ダンスが脳に与える影響を分析し地域にも貢献していきたいです。

Com o Covid-19, os teatros foram um dos primeiros locais a serem fechados devido à pandemia e, provavelmente, serão os últimos a serem reabertos. Como meus pais são artistas e toda a nossa renda é baseada em projetos executados, o momento que estamos vivendo é de instabilidade econômica, pois todos os trabalhos agendados foram cancelados. Como muitos outros brasileiros, estamos procurando por novas possibilidades: meus pais estão procurando outras maneiras de vender o nosso trabalho e eu estou procurando trabalhos pela internet (com tradução e edição de vídeo e áudio). Porém no momento atual ainda não temos condições de bancar o custo total da universidade. Eu compreendo que esse é um momento de incerteza e dificuldade financeira para todos, mas, sem essa vaquinha, seria impossível realizar esse sonho e, ao ajudar, você também fará parte dessa conquista. Minha sincera gratidão a todos que estão contribuindo para realização desse sonho.

Why do I need your help?
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, theaters were one of the first places to be closed and are likely to be the last to reopen. Because my parents are artists and all of our income is based on executed projects, we are living in a moment of economic instability, since all scheduled jobs have been canceled. Like many other Brazilians, we are looking for new possibilities: my parents are looking for other sources of income and I am looking for works over the internet (such as video and audio editing and translation). However, we are still unable to afford the full cost of the program. このダンススクールではボランティア活動にも力を入れ、老人ホームに行きダンスを通して沢山の人に元気を届ける事が出来ました。他の老人ホームではバレエのパフォーマンスを通して、ケアの必要な人々のために愛情と思いやりいっぱいに接する事がどれほど重要であるかに気づきました。その後は、動物保護団体にて捨てられた動物たちのために新しい家族を見つけるボランティアをしました。私は、この経験を通して動物と自然に対する人間の責任についての理解を深める事が出来ました。人間は常に、どの動物よりも優れていると思い込み、他の動物は私達、人間と同じ生物であり、人間の日常的行動がどのように他の生物に影響を及ぼしているかを忘れがちだと思います。
高校３年間で私はダンスの振付師としてダンスの大会を通し、両親を始め、クラスメートや先生、学校で働く用務員や高校の寄付者に感謝を表す事が出来ました。振り返って見ると、常に新しいことを学ぶ姿勢とより良い人間性確立のための価値創造は創価の生徒として、高校での全ての経験は私の成長に不可欠でした。

Por que desejo estudar na Universidade Soka da América?
O meu maior desejo é contribuir para o bem da humanidade. Acredito que cada pessoa é única e que cada um de nós é capaz de desenvolver sua própria maneira de contribuir para o mundo. Futuramente pretendo defender os direitos dos animais e do meio ambiente, criando um diálogo entre empresas, governos e ONG's, estabelecendo uma relação de harmonia entre o homem e a natureza e solucionando problemas ambientais causados pelo ser humano, como, por exemplo, o plástico no oceano. Mas também pretendo desenvolver estudos sobre a dança e sua influência no cérebro, analisando os seus benefícios e unindo, assim, a arte e a ciência para contribuir para a humanidade.
A Universidade Soka da América (SUA) é uma instituição de educação humanística que aprimora líderes mundiais com um pensamento global. Seus alunos desenvolvem propostas para resolução de conflitos e ações baseadas no respeito à dignidade da vida. Com o estudo de Artes Liberais na SUA vou ter a oportunidade de desenvolver habilidades, como o pensamento crítico, a liderança e a comunicação, que são de extrema importância para o meu desenvolvimento e aprimoramento para decidir qual área de atuação irei seguir. Why do I want to study at Soka University of America?
My greatest wish is to contribute to humanity in a positive way. I believe that each person is unique and that each of us is able to develop our own way of contributing to the world. I intend to, in the future, advocate for animals and environment riths, creating dialogues between companies, governments and NGOs, thereby establishing a harmonious relationship among human and nature and solving environment problems caused by us, such as plastic pollution in the ocean. I also hope to develop studies about dance and its influence on the brain, analysing its benefits and uniting art and science to contribute to society.
Soka University of America (SUA) is an institution with a humanistic education that fosters world leaders with global thinking. Its students develop proposals for conflict resolution and actions based on the respect for the dignity of life. With Liberal Arts curriculum at SUA, I will have the opportunity to develop skills, such as critical thinking, leadership and communication, which are extremely important for my personal development and improvement, as well as to help me decide which path to follow. I am sure that by studying at this institution I will improve and develop my own unique way of contributing to society.

Com o Covid-19, os teatros foram um dos primeiros locais a serem fechados devido à pandemia e, provavelmente, serão os últimos a serem reabertos. Como meus pais são artistas e toda a nossa renda é baseada em projetos executados, o momento que estamos vivendo é de instabilidade econômica, pois todos os trabalhos agendados foram cancelados. Como muitos outros brasileiros, estamos procurando por novas possibilidades: meus pais estão procurando outras maneiras de vender o nosso trabalho e eu estou procurando trabalhos pela internet (com tradução e edição de vídeo e áudio). Porém no momento atual ainda não temos condições de bancar o custo total da universidade. Eu compreendo que esse é um momento de incerteza e dificuldade financeira para todos, mas, sem essa vaquinha, seria impossível realizar esse sonho e, ao ajudar, você também fará parte dessa conquista. Why do I need your help?
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, theaters were one of the first places to be closed and are likely to be the last to reopen. Because my parents are artists and all of our income is based on executed projects, we are living in a moment of economic instability, since all scheduled jobs have been canceled. Like many other Brazilians, we are looking for new possibilities: my parents are looking for other sources of income and I am looking for works over the internet (such as video and audio editing and translation). However, we are still unable to afford the full cost of the program. I understand that this is a time of uncertainty and financial difficulty for everyone, but without crowdfunding, it would be impossible to make this dream come true.
