Baby Everette

On September 26, 2018, Shasta and Eric's world was turned upside down when their daughter, Everette, was born at the gestational age of 28 weeks and 2 days, weighing in at 2 pounds and 4 ounces.

Their journey began on September 19th when Shasta was hospitalized with severe preeclampsia.  Doctors began Shasta on an immediate protocol of magnesium and steroids to prepare both mommy and baby for an emergency C-section that night.  Doctors were able to stabilize Shasta's condition and she was able to remain pregnant six additional days, getting her to the 28 week milestone, which was a huge accomplishment.  On September 25th, it was determined that due to the severity of Shasta's preeclampsia, the placenta had stopped working efficiently and Everette was no longer growing.  The decision was made that the baby would do better outside of the womb than inside, so the C-section was scheduled.

Shasta and Eric were caught off guard by these events and by Everette making her appearance 2-1/2 months early.  They know there will be many obstacles on the long road ahead of them and they are preparing themselves for many long days and nights in the NICU.

Typically, preterm babies remain in the NICU until their due date, which is mid-December for Everette.  Many people have reached out on how they can help.  The best thing we can do is rally together to help ease the financial stress Shasta and Eric are currently facing, and will continue to face with Everette's mounting medical bills.  Knowing some of these expenses will be covered is a huge burden off their shoulders so they can focus on what's most important...baby Everette's care and needs so they can bring her home.

All the prayers, positive thoughts and emotional support they have already received are very much appreciated.  Both Shasta and Eric are prepared for a very long, emotional road ahead of them, and they are ready to charge forward!

Please keep your prayers coming so the entire Davidson clan can be united as one family under one roof.  Updates will be posted on Everette's progress.
