Need help with electric bill

Donation protected

A series of unfortunate events has landed Ms. Earleen Lane and her three amazing children David (12), Daleena (9) and Dakayla (7) in a difficult situation.  This family of four has been living in a home without electricity since May.

Ms. Lane's story starts by escaping physical abuse and moving her family across the United States from Florida to California to start a new life.  Her hard work and dedication afforded her to move from skid-row in Los Angeles to a beautiful town home in Aliso Viejo.

Unfortunately, one of her children became ill and spent a fair amount of time in the hospital. Earleen did all she could to tend to her other two children, work full-time and spend time with Dakayla in the hospital. Missing too much work trying to keep the family's needs met cost Ms. Lane her job.

Bills began to pile up and become past due, but Ms. Lane continued to prioritize the needs of the family with food and shelter while often going without other needs most of us take for granted such as a mobile phone.  The final straw was Earleen's car lost its transmission. The choice had to be made...the past due electric bill or her mode of transportation to get her children to school and trips to the hospital.

Once Dakayla was out of the hospital, Ms. Lane made her way back to work.  Earleen had one major hurdle to overcome, to get her electricity turned back on.  The attempt to make payment arrangements was denied by the power supplier and the demand for payment in full was required to have it turned back on.  To date, the bill has grown to $5,344.54.  This insurmountable amount of money is all that is standing between Earleen and her success story.  Ms. Lane has since obtained a second job trying hard to save all she can to payoff this bill knowing full well that once it is back on, she could afford to keep it on.

We look to family, friends, church groups, and organizations to help this wonderful, hard working woman get her and her families lives back on track.  With the heat as bad as it's been, we hope to help Ms. Lane have this situation resolved as soon as possible. Please feel free to forward via Facebook, phone, email....to anyone you would like to help make a difference.
