Cindy Snavley's Cancer Fight

Donation protected
While 2020 has been a difficult year for many, it has been especially hard on our mom, Cindy Snavley, one of the toughest women we know.

In June, she suffered a moderate stroke which was triggered by a blockage in her brain. The stroke affected her vision, balance and motor skills. After four weeks in a rehabilitation center, she was discharged still unable to walk.

In October, Cindy's mom Lorraine was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer and passed away a few weeks later.

Shortly after her mother's passing, Cindy received the results of her MRI back. The doctors found a tumor in her spinal cord and performed emergency surgery two days later. The tumor was pinching her spinal cord, causing her lower limbs to go numb. The surgery resulted in only a biopsy as the tumor was entangled in her spinal cord. After two weeks in hospital recovering from her surgery, she was sent to rehab for another two weeks, missing out on her birthday and Thanksgiving.

Unfortunately, the biopsy results for the tumor came back as cancer.  They have recommended an aggressive treatment of radiation and chemo starting after the holidays.

Before the stroke and cancer diagnosis, Cindy owned her own hair salon for over 30 years. Unfortunately she had to give up her job and passion for hair cutting in June as a result of losing her mobility after the stroke.

While Rich and Cindy would not ask for anything themselves, we as their sons are asking our community to give in any way they can, to help us in supporting our parents during this emotionally and financially difficult time.

Love,

Brian and Matt
