Special Care Baby Unit 365 Sea Swims

Hey.

My name is Leanne and I love all things challenging. I have opted to a 52 week Challenge with the 365 Swim Challenge group. This is for me to Wild Swim at least 2 x a week throughout the year. I'm also participating in a 30 day consecutive Winter Warrior Challenge through January. Whilst wearing only a costume or Bikini. For anyone that knows me I hate being cold, so just that in itself is a challenge for me let alone getting into water that is currently only 9.8 degrees. 

I'm raising money for SCBU and 20% of what I raise will go towards the 365 Legacy Fund which helps support great local projects like The Seal Project and Shoalstone Pool in Brixham.

SCBU touched my life dramatically when my son was born premature and taken straight from me on arrival. Reef spent 7 days in the unit being nursed back to full health before we were aloud to take him home. I didn't get to hold my son for 3 days because of how poorly he was. My daughter Bay also spent time in SCBU after having a seizure 12hrs after birth, she received 3 Lumbar Punctures, MRI Scans, spent the first few days of her life hooked up to every machine possible. I am very lucky that both my babe's have made full recoveries from their beginnings and they go strength to strength, making me proud every day with their kindness and love for the outdoors.

Side note: As you are all probably aware I got Covid last year whilst isolation was still a must so unfortunately I had to restart this amazing challenge! I'm aiming to raise more and more for the SCBU so will be continuing past my 365th day and head into the winter and push through to 2023!
