It was 48 years ago that Ray & Virginia Newman first brought Scrooge to life here on Salt Spring. With a veritable cast of thousands (& several apologies to Charles Dickens), this island favourite is set to, once again, sing & dance us through the past, present & future!
By joining Christmas with Scrooge's Inclusivity Campaign, your contribution allows full community participation in this holiday tradition by one and all regardless of their means and/or abilities!
The Cast and Crew will use your donation to:
a) to help subsidize ticket prices for our island kids
b) to take this performance to our facility-bound community elders
c) to allow the cast and crew to perform, educate and introduce the writings of Charles Dickens to our young students in School District #64
d) to allow local non-profits to distribute free tickets to our island friends and neighbours who might be unable afford to participate in this long-standing community event. Tickets are $25 each
e) to allow the cast and crew to hire a special-needs bus and driver to allow mobility challenged islanders an opportunity to participate in this local holiday tradition.
You can let us know where you'd like us to spend your donation (i.e. on youth, seniors, special needs or the financially challenged members of our community) or leave it up to us to pay your generosity forward!
