Scott Moore Memorial

Scott Moore passed away on Thursday, Nov. 30 after suddenly falling ill less than a week prior. He was 46. As a superintendent at Roy Strom Excavating & Grading Co., Scott was a respected member of the Laborers' District Local 5. He was most recently supervising work on the new McDonald's headquarters in Chicago's West Loop. He worked on job sites including the Lincoln Park Zoo, The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Newcity in Lincoln Park, University of Chicago Children's Hospital and dozens more. Scott was a leader who kept a calm head and positive attitude even through the most chaotic job sites. Workers liked him. He will be missed by the Roy Strom Co. and by those he worked with in the field everyday.

Born in Indiana on January 5, 1971, Scott was a U.S. Marine, and was recruited to play basketball at Purdue University. He was a near scratch golfer and a fan of NASCAR and the Chicago Blackhawks.

We are asking the excavating and construction community to honor his memory by donating to his wife and family. The money will support them as they pay for the cost of Scott's illness and funeral services. We will update this page when the time of those services is made available.
