Thank you so very much for all the prior donations, love, support, & prayers we have received since Scott's ALS diagnosis, we are forever grateful.
Before our home becomes a revolving door, winter sets in, & Scott's mobility becomes too difficult for us to handle on our own, we have plans to take a modest short road trip as a last hoorah to enjoy & celebrate our freedom.
Scott & I are 1 1/2 years into this ALS rollercoaster of a disease. We have faced many physical, mental, emotional, and financial challenges. The next phase of this devastating disease is having caregivers come into our home to assist Scott. The idea of having help is wonderful but it comes with sacrifices you don't think of until you are in the situation.
We are now confronted with the security of our material items &, most importantly, Scott's safety. We are in the throngs of figuring out how to reorganize our home so the items we want protected can be behind locked doors. We are frantically researching in-home cameras so we can monitor what's happening in our home to help keep Scott & Noodle (our dog) safe. All of this comes at a price.
We are also wading through the red tape & jumping through hoops in getting a power wheel chair (PWC) for Scott. We have filed financial hardship paperwork but the reality is we may have to pay several thousands of dollars in order to actually get a PWC.
