Scottie Wayne Goodpaster Jr.

Update: First and foremost we would like to thank everyone who has donated on behalf of Scottie Jr. His parents are filled with an enormous sense of relief knowing that they can give Scottie Jr a proper memorial. Both of our families are incredibly appreciative of the loving hearts of the people who have shared his story, donated money, and kept Scottie Jr and his whole family in constant thoughts and prayers.

We would like to share an update on what has happened over the last few days. Scottie Jr's body was recovered on Saturday, an autopsy was performed, and today his body was released to a mortuary in Wichita, KS where it is being prepared for cremation.

Scottie Sr went to Yoder Mortuary today and made the plans for Scottie Jr. He also chose two urns for both of Scottie's sons to have a piece of their father with them always, two small wooden boxes with crosses. In all, the money that has been donated from you covered ALL the expenses from today! Scottie Sr and Rita have also decided to purchase matching urns for the remainder of Scottie Jrs ashes. They are looking to find them online as they would like to get KC Chiefs urns, in honor of Scottie Jr's favorite team! We believe that the cost of their urns will also be fully funded by your donations and for that we are thankful.

We would like to also mention that any other funds collected from this point forward will go towards the expenses of Scottie Jr's Celebration of Life to be held next month at Westside Family Church in Leavenworth, KS. When we get the date and time we will release that information on this page and on Scottie Jr's Memorial Page on Facebook.

The donations continuing to come in will go toward: Flowers, food, drinks, and any other expenses associated with holding Scottie Jr's Celebration of Life Memorial.

Again, on behalf of Scottie Sr and Rita, we want to thank you all for your love and generosity during this time and we ask that you continue to keep Scottie Jr, his children, his parents, and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
On November 6, 2016 Scottie Wayne Goodpaster Jr. was reported missing in Valley Center, Kansas. Over the next few days search crews were deployed in hopes to find Scottie Jr. in the rural parts of Central Kansas. During that time the local authorities made four arrests in connection with Scottie’s disappearance and continued to search for one more suspect.

Original Post: On Thursday, November 10th the final suspect was found and four of the five suspects were arraigned for the kidnapping, robbery, torture, and murder of Scottie Wayne Jr.

Since November 7th, Scott Goodpaster Sr. has vowed to find his son and safely return him to his mother; and he intends to do so. Scottie’s father, with the help of numerous family and friends, law enforcement, and the community of Valley Center have started the tedious process to recover Scottie Jr’s body and return him to his mother in Leavenworth, Kansas where a proper memorial and subsequent burial will take place.

At this time the men and women in custody are not cooperating with the local law enforcement. They refuse to talk about what happened, and most importantly they refuse to tell where they left Scottie Jr's body after they tortured and murdered him.

The Goodpaster family is asking for you help. Besides local volunteers to comb the rural areas of Central Kansas, the Goodpaster family is in need of help with the costs that are starting to stack up. His father needs money for gas to continue to comb the hundreds of acres of farmland, river bottoms, and rural dirt roads, as he has spending all day and night searching, rather than going to work. They need to start collecting money to transport Scottie Jr's body back to Leavenworth, and they need money to help support the cost of the eventual memorial and burial that Scottie Jr. will have when his body is finally returned to his mother.

Scottie Jr's parents, Scottie and Rita, already know that their son is in the arms of the Lord and in the Heavenly embrace of his grandmother, Carla, but now they desire a closure that can only come from finally laying their son's Earthly body to rest.

Please consider donating to the Goodpaster family to help Scottie and Rita bury Scottie Jr in his rightful place, to allow his grandmother, his children, and his family and friends a final place to pay their respects for one of the kindest souls they have ever known.

For those who can not donate monetarily, please continue to send prayers and strength to the family. It is appreciated.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding." - Proverb 3:5
