On Sunday 17th September 2017 , Scott Turner had a horrific accident at he home, he was climbing and slipped falling 12ft completely severing his right foot from his leg. He was treated at the scene where they manually attached his foot back to his leg and held this in place by a splint. I have included the pictures Vickie has agreed to they are very graphic just to warn everyone. He was then transferred to The John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford. He underwent hours of surgery on Sunday to re-attach the foot and pin the bones in place.
He has done irrepairable damage to his skin which they are hopeful will heal over time. On Wednesday he will undergo over ten hours of surgery to fuse the bones with metal plates, screws and pins from the foot and ankle to the leg. He will also undergo a muscle transplant from his thigh to his foot to aid blood flow through out. They will then in same surgery carry out a skin graft on top of his ankle and plastic surgery to fill the current holes in his ankle and foot, this will take all day and involve multiple highly skilled surgeons.
John Radcliffe have been amazing throughout.
Scott and his amazing mum Vickie have a a very long road to recovery and as their friends we wanted to do something to help them Lilly, Bonnie & Xavier so we thought we would set up this page.
Driving to and from the hospital and parking alone is going to be £30-£40 a day, and this could be for weeks, months even. Then once Scott is home there will intensive daily physio needed so Vickie will still be unable to go back to work. Vickie is a single mum to four and she works tirelessly for charity so this our chance to give something back to her and show her just how much we all care about her and the kids.
