Scott Polatty’s GBM Fund
As Scott’s daughter, I’d like to say thank you for hearing my dad’s story. Your support and/or contributions are so appreciated by all of us! My dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM)—the most aggressive form of brain cancer, at the end of 2019.
It all started with a day of baking Christmas cookies. My dad was having some pretty intense migraines and we decided to have him checked out to be safe. A trip to the ER revealed multiple brain tumors and we were sent to specialists. A couple of weeks, tests, and one brain surgery later, our family was told the specifics of his inoperable, cancerous tumor.
In the last seven months, his condition has deteriorated, but we’ve had some good days along with the rough ones. To provide him with as much time as possible, my dad continues to undergo chemotherapy, radiation, and dozens of other medical procedures. While there is no cure, we’re hopeful these treatments can provide him with more quality of life in the time he has left.
As you can imagine, my dad has been unable to work and do the normal things we all
enjoy. His medical care has run into hundreds of thousands of dollars. That’s why we created this account and hope that it provides an opportunity for our friends and family to lend support. On top of everything we don’t want my dad, or the rest of the family, to stress about how we’ll make ends meet. We just want the best for him, and you can help us with that. It’s so hard for us to ask. We’ve gone back and forth for a long time about whether to do this. But in the end, we must. And if you can’t give, we hope you’ll add my dad, Scott Polatty, to your prayer lists. We appreciate that, as well.
ALL funds raised will be used to bring quality to my dad’s life, provide for all his wants
and needs, assist with medical expenses, and support his immediate family at a time
when he can’t.
**Disclaimer: In an effort to deter fraudulent requests, I’ll state that we will never ask for any other form of monetary contribution (I.e. gift cards, cash sharing apps, etc.)
