Scott Caraway, a classmate from Jackson Prep in Jackson Ms, recently texted me late one night with the stunning news that he will be having a triple bypass on Friday, 9/1/17. I was shocked, always thinking of Scott as very vibrant, hearty and full of life . After our conversation, I thought about those moments from high school that brought a smile to my face and Scott Caraway's presence almost always came up. He had the most amazing sense of humor and always saw the good in people. He still has that, but needs us to give it back to him.
He is a very young 52 years old and is facing a very expensive and exhausting, emotionally and physically, healing process in having this triple bypass. His doctor, Clay Hays, at St Dominics in Jackson, MS, admits a promising outcome but he will need extensive recuperation and assistance from friends far and wide.
In the past years, he has lost his younger sister and both his parents way too soon. He currently has no insurance and is facing loss of work as a result of the recuperation needed. As his friends, known and unknown, I hope we can come together and offer him our support.
He is an unwavering supporter of the animal rescue community in Mississippi over the years fostering and rescuing many animals in need.
He has volunteered many weeks during several of the USA International Ballet Competitions held in Jackson every four years since 1979, helping bring a worldwide awareness of the great city of Jackson, MS and the hospitality of the state of Mississippi.
He is a RABID Mississippi State University fan so let's get them DAWGS to rally!!!
Please reach out to him, give what you can so that he can feel supported and loved the way he did so many of us. Our support will lift him up during this challenge.
